CALL FOR
ABSTRACTS - Guidelines for paper proposals
Baltic
Dynamics is an annual international conference rotating between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and focusing on
innovation and competitiveness related topics. The Baltic Dynamics 2008
will be held in Tartu,
Estonia, on
3-5 September, under the title Innovation - Key from Slowdown to Growth.
Theme of this year’s event is related to the challenge which Baltic States, and
many countries elsewhere face – how to address economic slowdowns and find new
strategies for growth. Under this general headline, the conference will focus
upon the following main topics:
- Open
Innovation - We are
looking for papers focusing on relevant case studies and empirical experiences
on how the competitiveness of companies can be enhanced through open innovation
approaches.
– Foresight
- We are looking for papers discussing the different approaches and
examples of foresight exercises for better adjusted policy making in the areas
of innovation, technology development and competitiveness.

Science and Technology Parks – We are looking for papers focusing on novel and innovative approaches
and presenting relevant models and case studies about the changing role of
science and technology parks.

E-Services – We are
looking for case papers focusing on development of new and innovative
E-services in both private and public sector
-
Environment and Energy as catalyst for Innovation – We are looking for papers focusing on
relevant approaches and case studies on how the developments in environment and
energy sectors can stimulate innovation in companies.
- Global
Context for Innovation - We are looking for papers focusing on the interesting developments in
U.S, China, India, Russia,
etc and case studies how this will influence company innovation activities and
competitiveness in Europe.
Anyone
interested in presenting a paper must first submit a 300 to 500 word abstract
to the Conference Organising Committee (info@balticdynamics.com)
not later than 14 April 2008.
All
abstracts must be in English. Abstracts must consist of “text” and must be
submitted in “Word” format.
The abstracts submitted MUST
include the following information: Title of the paper, Session for which the
paper is intended, Author's and Paper Presenter’s Name, Co-authors’ Names,
Author’s E-mail, Organisation, Address, Phone.
The submitted abstracts will
be evaluated by the Conference Organising Committee, according to the following
criteria:
- the relevance of the paper
to the session for which it is intended,
- the clarity of the
presentation,
- the scope of the analysis
and the level of generalisation,
- the originality of the
topic and/or approach,
- the proficiency of the
English language of the text.
The authors will be notified
by 21st April 2008of whether their abstracts have
been selected and will receive further information on how to present their
ideas at the Conference.
