Forest fires and life sciences

As you may know, Greece has recently experienced a lot of forest fires. There are many ideas on rapid restoration of the affected area (not only reforestration, but also support of novel economic activities- e.g. presrrvation of wildlife), so every suggestion or idea is very welcome.
