I would like to give my personal impression from the last consortium meeting held in Brussels. Although we were missing some of the partners I think that we had a fruitful and important meeting that illustrated what we have done till now as well as clarifying a roadmap and things we need to do in the near future, in order to successfully execute the project.
I got this communication. Note Dissemination Managers: we may cooperate with them by linking our platform to theirs. While they are focused on scientific audio-visual content, we provide online textual networking. For your consideration.
Many people, especially ones who are not computer-freaks or addicted to Internet, can be overwhelmed with the amount of information spread by such an online virtual networking platform such as SpidERA. I mean because we do more than LinkedIn in the sense that we aim to have LSH content, then the amount of information is large and will grow in orders of magnitude as the number of subscribers grow.
A simple (maybe stupid) question: what's the difference between Blog entry that I create to a Forum topic?!?!?!
I got today a message from a colleague. Seems like a network of Francofils ;-)
It only means that every network seek for it's unique "flavor" and this one's targeting the French speakers.
I can't join this network, unfortunately :-)
Earlier this week I've been in the Commission in Brussels (DG Health) and when talking with people (both project participants and Commissioners) I get the idea of how much the IT section of a funded project is important. <!--break--> I mean that you can have a project w/o so much concrete achievements but if its website is alive, useful and comprehensive then everybody's talking about it, suggests everyone to use it, suggest other project to connect to you for using the results etc. You can be promoted to the level of second to God ;-)
Guys, just to update that Beacon Tech recently succeeded to approve for funding two new projects under FP7. Not a bad achievement...
We're willing to discuss more ideas with you and turn them into successful funded projects.
FP7 just began and we have almost 7 years to work under this framework.
The cycles are long. The road is not always smooth and easy. But if you succeed - then its surely worth it.
So start the brainstorm today, so next year you will have your funded project so that you could change the world ;-)
back in few years ago, online social networks became operational and even popular among specific groups. The idea behind the project was to use the existing technology of online virtual networking, coupled with text mining capabilities, to assist the European Commission (EC) in its objective to bring closer people from small and innovating companies (SMEs - Small-Medium Enterprises) together with people from Academia. These two segments share different agendas and vocations, however they are dependent in a way, because the term R&D is built on their contributions.
