First call for Innovative Medicines Initiative a success[Date: 2008-07-22]The first stage of calls for the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), which is supported by the EU with €1 billion in funding, was recently closed and is already being regarded as a success by many of those involved.
In the beautiful harbor city of Dalian, China, the 13th International Biotechnology Symposium (IBS) will be held from October 12th to 17th, 2008. The IBS has been held every four years since 1960 and it has become the premier International Chinese conference in the growing field ok biotechnology.
The exhibition will provide opportunities to the participants to the latest developments in biotechnologies, bio-products and instruments, as well as a platform to foster collaborations.

The Eu Workshop on Molecular Targets for Cancer will be held in Bergen, Norway, on July 11-12, 2008. It is organised by the European Commission DG RTD and the University of Bergen.
The aim of this workshop is to identify possible bottlenecks and put forward solutions that boost the commercial value of potentially innovative findings on molecular targets, emanating from European research on cancer.
