The Eu Workshop on Molecular Targets for Cancer will be held in Bergen, Norway, on July 11-12, 2008. It is organised by the European Commission DG RTD and the University of Bergen.
The aim of this workshop is to identify possible bottlenecks and put forward solutions that boost the commercial value of potentially innovative findings on molecular targets, emanating from European research on cancer.

The programme is focused on childhood cancers and cancers with a poor prognosis (pancreatic, ovarian, mesothelioma, esophageal/gastric and glioma).

A new draft (#3) of the work programme exist. It seems quite stable. Not much changes since last draft.

The current information about the next Call for proposals: there will be two calls: FP7-HEALTH-2008-A (one-step submission)/ HEALTH-2008-B (two-stage submission). Call budget: €590 million. Call publication: End July 2008. Estimated Call deadlines: HEALTH-2008-A: One-step: November 2008; HEALTH-2008-B: October 2008 first stage/ 2nd stage closure February-March 2009. Next call Health: Automn 2009.

Guys, just to update that Beacon Tech recently succeeded to approve for funding two new projects under FP7. Not a bad achievement...

We're willing to discuss more ideas with you and turn them into successful funded projects.

FP7 just began and we have almost 7 years to work under this framework.

The cycles are long. The road is not always smooth and easy. But if you succeed - then its surely worth it.
