I would like to invite one of my colleague to join the network. I think we still need a bit of time to really be ready to enlarge the network because the platform needs improvement, but he is quite interested in participating from now and could be of help by giving an external advice.

I think it's dependent on the type of relationships you have. If it will not prevent him/her to try it in the future in case not pleased then go ahead. External feedback from trusted people is important.
