Hi,
The annual call for proposals to fund transfer of knowledge between one or more companies and one or more universities or public research centres is now open. It can fund staff exchange for transfer of knowledge between the public and private sector (usually at transnational level) and recruitment of research staff with specific competences to be acquired, as well as organisation of meetings, seminars, trainings etc. for transfer of knowledge between the public and private sector.
The deadline in 2008 is 25 March. There will be further calls in 2009 and onwards.

Sound interesting
Actually this sound pretty interesting,
anyone interested in partnering?

though the deadline is short 25 March, the chances are high for funding. The program is still unknown. Only 103 project submissions- 41 were invited for negotiation!

It's all about staff exchange (like mobility grants) so it needs to be a solid and logical collabration. Possibly not something you invent. Norman, I guess you're like Academia in this respect (research institute) so I guess you need to check if you have some of your collaborating SMEs from abroad that will be interested in that framework.

Daphne,
We had a submission for a customer from innovative SME that wanted to make a collaboration with academia. The project was good. It didn't pass evaluation for technical reasons. We're planning to resubmit to this call.
Very good and recomended to small companies that want to do research with academia collaborators.
Best
