Description

APRE, in close collaboration with Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and the European Commission, provides information, assistance and training on research and technological innovation programmes, financed by the Commission, in particular within the Research and Technological Development  (RTD) Framework Programme.

APRE is an official member of the European Innovation Relay Centres (IRC) Network.

In the October 2002 I was officially appointed by the Ministry of Research, Education and University as National Contact Point for the 3rd Priority of the Sixth Framework Programme ‘Nano-technologies and nano-sciences, knowledge-based multifunctional materials and new production processes and devices.’  In October 2006 I was appointed as National contact Point for 2 Themes of the Seventh Framework Programme: Theme  “Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials & new production technologies” and Theme “Security”.

As NCP I provide:

·         assistance to LEs, SMEs, Industrial Associations, Universities, Research Centres in the presentation of RTD projects within the Framework Programme;

·         Eligibility check on RTD and CRAFT projects to be submitted;

·         Information and training activities on the financial opportunities within the Framework Programme of the European Commission;

·         Organisation of national and international events;

·         Lecturer in national and international congresses.

In APRE I work as:

·         Project Manager: in the Fifth Framework Programme I was responsible for the DETECTFRAUD and the MINATECH European project  both with six EU and non-EU partners, financed by the European Commission.  The project  aim was to stimulate the participation of SMEs to the Fifth Framework Programme.  I am now responsible for five European projects financed under the Sixth Framework Programme, namely PLASTeam, NAoMITEC and CORREERS, OPEN TTT and SPIDERA for LIFE.

·         Responsible  APRE of the Thematic group on micro and nano-technology of the International network of the Innovation Relais Centres;

·         Responsible of the Thematic areas concerning Security Research, Nanotenologies and Aeronautics and Space.  I give assistance to the project proposers in order to increase the Italian success rate in the projects retained by the European Commission;

·         Responsible for the Consortium Agreement evaluation and drafting team;

·         Trainer in Master (Alta Formazione) and traning courses in Italy and Europe;

·         Preparation of proposals and calls for tender to be submitted to the European Commission.

·         Writing articles on Research on magazines such as L’Imprenditore, Innovare and monthly articles on the APRE Newsletter.

Organiser of Congresses attended by the Nobel Prize winners, Professor Sabin and Professor Dulbecco and the Judges of the Constitutional Court, Professor Casavola and Professor Mengoni.

15.               Others:

ü  2005 – 2006 Mission for IBU for Aceh in the Tsunami damaged area of Mulaboh. After a fund raising campaign in Italy, we went to the IBU for Aceh main quarter in Meulaboh to monitor the donation. We visited several schools, bringing stationery donation. Back to Italy I wrote articles on the mission. We are trying to help people in Meulaboh in running new projects for the Singadeng Village.
